Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Healthcare Support Worker in the Short Stay Surgical Unit at Tunbridge Wells Hospital.

As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient-centered care, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective care.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the nursing team in providing clinical and non-clinical care to patients
  • Assist with patient assessments, care planning, and implementation
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues

Person Specification
  • Essential criteria:
    • Holds or commitment to complete the Care Certificate Programme within the first 6 months
    • Good general education
    • Ability to read, write, perform simple calculations, and communicate in English
  • Desirable criteria:
    • English and Maths Level 1 or GCSE English and Maths grade D/3 or above
    • Hold or willing to work towards NVQ Level 2 / Health and Social Care Diploma Level 2 / Intermediate apprenticeship Level 2
