About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support in our Endoscopy department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare professionals in the delivery of patient care, ensuring the highest standards of care and compassion.
  • Support patients with their physical and emotional needs, promoting independence and dignity.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Person Specification
  • NVQ/QCF Diploma Level 2 or equivalent qualification in healthcare.
  • GCSE English grade G/1 (or above) or Functional Skills English level 1.
  • GCSE maths grade G/1 (or above) or Functional Skills maths level 1.
  • Completion of the Care Certificate (or willingness to undertake).
Desirable Criteria
  • Decontamination training.
  • NVQ Level 2 in direct care.
  • Technicians' Training course in GI Endoscopy.
Essential Criteria
  • Understanding of the CSW role in Endoscopy.
  • Minimum of 1 year full-time equivalent experience as a Healthcare Support Worker or Trainee in a care setting.
Desirable Criteria
  • Knowledge of the design & function of endoscopes and decontamination issues.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Positive attitude to learning.
  • Able to work under supervision.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
