About the Role

The College of William & Mary seeks a highly skilled Executive Director of Advancement to lead all fundraising efforts for the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) and the Batten School of Coastal and Marine Sciences. As a key member of the university's advancement team, this individual will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to secure gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet VIMS and BSCMS goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Collaborate with the university's development team to identify and pursue new funding opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4-8 years of experience in development/advancement, with increasing responsibility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in fundraising, with a track record of securing significant gifts.

Benefits and Salary:

The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $188,000, commensurate with relevant experience. The College of William & Mary offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
