About Us

We are a leading provider of housing and support services to vulnerable individuals and families. We are seeking an experienced Community Development Officer to join our team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering participation programmes for clients in our service. This will involve working closely with internal teams and external agencies to design and deliver engaging activities that promote education, skills development, and independent living.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a weekly programme of participation activities/sessions
  • Collaborate with colleagues, external agencies, young people, and Salvation Army homes to ensure effective delivery
  • Create educational, practical, and skill-building opportunities for clients
  • Promote employment skills through CV writing, interview techniques, and job fairs
  • Foster relationships with activity providers, guest speakers, and specialist practitioners
  • Organise external trips and events, including residentials

What You'll Need

  • Experience in community development, youth work, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging programmes
  • Knowledge of local community resources and services

Salary

£25,000 - £30,000 per annum
