Finance & Accounting Operations Manager

Global Accounting Network is partnering with a leading independent energy company to source a Finance & Accounting Operations Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a robust team and act as the interlink between Business Operations and Accounting.

In this role, you will be responsible for the Finance Accounting Operation activities within the UK regional function. This will include IFRS and UK GAAP and preparation of statutory accounts. You will also manage the Accounts Receivable/Payable, general ledger accounting.

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA or similar)
  • Experience in industry (preferably oil and gas but not essential)
  • People management and development skills
  • IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Statutory Accounting experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management are required.
  • Experience using SAP, Microsoft Excel

The ideal candidate:

  • Has worked in a Group organisation before, understanding the structure, communication, and culture of working at group level (not to do consolidation)
  • Is a proactive and motivated individual with a drive to improve Finance Accounting Operations processes.
  • Has an open and flexible mindset, as the company is constantly changing and evolving.
  • Will support the UK regional business with all finance and accounting activity.
  • Will manage x4 direct reports - all Financial Operations Accountants
  • Will be responsible for all finance operations in the UK business, working as part of the global Group Finance function.
  • Will be accountable for operational accounting transactions under IFRS and UK GAAP, including EPM reporting monthly/annually.
  • Will be responsible for legal entity reporting and production of legal financial reports for UK GAAP audits and sign offs by Managing Directors.
  • Will support and drive process changes.
