Improve Private Sector Housing in Cheltenham

We are seeking a specialist to enhance private sector housing conditions and enforce legislation in Cheltenham. This role involves shaping the future of our community by improving living standards and enforcing regulations.

Estimated Salary: £38,622 per annum, based on location and job requirements.

The Role:
  • Conduct property inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and manage grants, loans, and works schemes to improve private sector housing conditions.
  • Participate in housing surveys to assess property conditions and inform area-based actions.
  • Determine applications for disabled facilities grants.
  • Provide evidence and appear as a witness in legal proceedings, tribunals, and public inquiries.
  • Collaborate with environmental health, building control, and related teams on enforcement and statutory approvals.
You:
  • A relevant qualification in environmental health/building/surveying or a related subject.
  • Good IT skills, including MS Office.
  • A valid driver's license and use of a car for work purposes.
