Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Portfolio Analyst to join our Projects Team at Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) Nuclear Security Technologies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for absorbing complex programmatic data points and turning them into a coherent and easily understandable story.

This includes creating reporting dashboards and leading the design and traceability of data to support decision making.

A key aspect of this role is analyzing governance, reporting outputs, and programmatic data to track key activities, plans, budgets, issues, and risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of the portfolio to maintain an integrated view of the key risks and issues
  • Recommending effective actions to mitigate risks and exploit opportunities
  • Analysis and evaluation of portfolio data to identify discrepancies, trends, and exceptions
  • Leading reporting from programmes and projects and providing analysis, insight, and recommendation of decisions for improved performance of the portfolio

Other Responsibilities include monitoring portfolio risks (threats and opportunities) and escalating as appropriate.

Using programmatic data, you will develop predictive analytics to optimize project performance.

Project reporting, cost planning, governance, risk, or analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

You will also have experience managing successful projects or programs, working in a project or programme management office, and analyzing and extrapolating complex data sets.

Digital reporting and analytical solutions are critical for delivering results in this position.

A strong understanding of risk management principles and practices is required.

APM Project Planning, Monitoring & Control is a valuable skill for this role.

In return for your expertise, you will receive a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, 270 hours holiday, and a market-leading contributory pension scheme.
