Role Overview

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team at a SEN-based school in South Shields. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs in their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN, enabling them to overcome their barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Assist in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) for students and help manage classroom behaviour.
  • Work with the SEN team to monitor and track student progress, supporting students in their academic and personal development.

Requirements

  • A degree in education or a related field, preferably with previous experience working with students in an SEN school setting.
  • A genuine interest in working with children with special educational needs and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are essential for this role.
