Prospero Teaching is working with an outstanding Primary School in South Shields who are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis. The role involves supporting pupils with their learning, building positive relationships with Class Teachers, and preparing resources for learning activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting a pupil with SEN and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with Class Teachers
  • Preparing resources for learning activities and lessons
  • Supervising pupils at break times and lunch times as required
Requirements:
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service)
  • A recognised Childcare-based qualification (ideally)
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
  • Experience of supporting pupils in a School setting
