Assistant Commercial Underwriter Role

The successful candidate will be working within the Global Corporate & Specialty department, as part of the GCS Surety Underwriting Team. This team specialises in niche commercial products and offers comprehensive training and development opportunities.

A background in underwriting, financial analysis or law is highly desirable, but not essential. If appointed, you will provide ad hoc support to the Underwriters, ensuring they focus on winning business.

  • You will create reports and management information to enable your manager to evaluate your performance.
  • You will work towards gaining your first underwriting licence, allowing you to independently manage standard risks.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Strong understanding of underwriting principles, financial analysis and/or law.
  • Proficiency in using standard computer software.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with senior representatives from clients' organisations via phone, email or face-to-face meetings.
