Job Title: Hydrometry and Telemetry Specialist

Pertemps SSDC DDT is seeking a skilled Hydrometry and Telemetry Specialist to join our team on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing telemetered instruments, supporting Hydrometry and Telemetry services, and prioritizing health and safety for themselves, the team, and the public.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Securely acquire and transfer hydrometric data in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Calibrate monitoring equipment, measure channel flow, maintain sites, install monitoring equipment, and input data into the hydrometric archive (WISKI).
  3. Assist in fault finding and repair of telemetry outstation equipment to minimize disruption to Flood Warning Service or Water Management sites.
  4. Support annual work plans, standards, and practices, collaborating closely with team members.
Requirements:
  1. Educated to degree level or equivalent in a scientific or engineering subject, with ideally some relevant experience.
  2. Understanding of Hydrometry and Telemetry systems and their role in the organisation's Water Management and Flood Risk strategies.
  3. Regular travel to and from sites within a defined area. Full UK driving license required.
