About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Inclusion Support Worker to join our team at Hunslet Moor Primary School. As an Inclusion Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) and contributing to the school's inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with SEN in accessing learning in the classroom and lead the personalized provision of individual pupils in line with their SEN support plans.
  • Facilitate individual and group work, developing strong working partnerships with colleagues, parents, and other agencies.
  • Be responsive to children's individual needs, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Play a significant role in driving the school's inclusion agenda, engaging and re-engaging children in school, and facilitating personalized provision for learners.
Requirements
  • A professional, committed, and hard-working approach.
  • A genuine desire and passion to improve outcomes for pupils, recognizing the importance of the Inclusion Support Worker role in achieving this.
  • An understanding of how children learn most effectively, including those with SEN.
  • Experience of successfully improving outcomes for SEN learners.
  • Experience of contributing to and role modeling practice and approaches that support all learners to access inclusive classrooms.
  • The ability to follow direction from others but also use initiative.
  • Experience (or the desire to develop skills) in intensive interaction strategies such as PECs.
  • The confidence to challenge behaviors in a caring and patient manner.
  • The ability to engage and build positive and professional relationships with parents and carers.
  • Excellent literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
  • The ability to work flexibly, including working across the primary age range.
  • A sustained commitment to professional development.
