Are you a caring and responsible individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children? As a Night Care Worker at Millstream Lodge, you'll be part of a close-knit team that puts the needs of our young residents first.

Your primary focus will be on maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, ensuring the well-being and happiness of our children throughout the night.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupervision and Monitoring
  • Carry out thorough checks to verify the presence of all children, reporting any absences to senior staff immediately.
  • Regularly inspect the home's security systems to prevent any potential breaches.
Record-keeping and Communication
  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs of nighttime events, submitting them to senior staff prior to your shift ending.
  • Contribute to comprehensive reports and assessments related to individual children or groups, demonstrating your ability to analyse and document complex information.
Support and Assistance
  • Work collaboratively with daytime staff to create a seamless bedtime routine, promoting a calm atmosphere for our young residents.
  • Assist with morning preparations, ensuring children are clean, dressed, and ready for the day.
  • Provide empathetic support to children experiencing distress or discomfort, escalating concerns to the Sleep In team as necessary.
  • Develop strong, professional relationships with children, modelling positive behaviour and setting a good example.
  • Participate in safeguarding efforts, adhering to the home's Child Protection Policy and promoting a culture of transparency and accountability.
  • Follow the home's Health and Safety Policy, prioritising the well-being and safety of our children.
  • Perform various domestic tasks, such as laundry and cleaning, as required.
