Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team at Pilgrim's Europe. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for the set up and effective operation of process machinery to achieve production targets and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • · Set up machinery ready for production, ensuring all guards are in place and functioning correctly.
  • · Maintain strict adherence to hygiene, health, and safety requirements and safe working practices.
  • · Ensure the correct product and equipment are available prior to start-up to ensure the line is ready to commence production at the appointed time.
  • · Continuously monitor machinery to ensure it is running correctly and safely during production, identifying and reporting any mechanical faults or problems immediately to the Department Manager.
  • · Monitor product quality and liaise with QA when necessary.
  • · Calculate throughputs and ensure correct throughput is obtained for the product being run.
  • · Minimize product or material wastage by ensuring machinery is set up properly and baskets/dolavs are positioned appropriately along the line.
  • · Perform daily cleaning duties of machinery.
  • · At shift changeover, pass on all relevant information and documentation concerning the line to the incoming shift.
  • · At the end of production, remove cutting blades and make the machine safe.
  • · Ensure all machinery is empty of product and remove it to designated storage areas.
  • · Maintain all paperwork and pass relevant information/documentation concerning the machinery to the oncoming shift.
  • · In the event of a fire alarm, shut down all designated process machinery before leaving the building.
  • · Perform any other duties required in other areas as directed by your Department Manager.
