Job Description

Child Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Child Mental Health Specialist to support children with moderate learning difficulties and additional mental health needs at our school in Hailsham.

The ideal candidate will have career aspirations in behavioural neuroscience, clinical, counselling, developmental, educational, neuropsychology, physiological, school and social psychology roles.

As a Child Mental Health Specialist, you will be working closely with children who have come from trauma/neglected backgrounds, challenging behaviour, ADHD or Autism, and developed mental health issues due to their needs.

Key responsibilities include assisting the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students, performing conflict resolution and de-escalation, and ensuring safeguarding of students.

Requirements:

  • Psychology degree desirable but not necessary.
  • Understanding of challenging behaviour and ability to manage it effectively.
