Overview

The role of a Wine Development Manager at CV-Library is to spearhead the wine category development within their designated region. This involves fostering strong relationships with account managers and local businesses to drive sales and expand the company's market presence.

This position requires a professional with commercial experience in selling wine, preferably on-trade, as well as in-depth knowledge of the wine trade and current trends. WSET Level 3 certification is preferred.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. New Business Development: Open new wine accounts in collaboration with Account Managers.
  2. Existing Business Growth: Work closely with Account Managers to develop and retain existing customers, focusing on top 50 wine accounts in the region. Conduct bi-annual wine reviews with these accounts, quarterly visits to the top 20 accounts, and implement Wine Development Plans as agreed upon.
  3. Category Management: Develop commercially appealing and relevant wine lists aligned with market trends, identify opportunities for LWC's own brand, and present a wine slot at monthly depot meetings. Collaborate with Depot Managers, Stock Controllers, Telesales, and Wine Team members to achieve this goal.

Key Requirements:

  1. Minimum 2 years of commercial experience in selling wine (on-trade preferred).
  2. Excellent knowledge of the wine trade and current trends.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
