At Signature Career Management, we are seeking a Category Visionary to join our team. This role presents a unique opportunity for an ambitious and driven professional to make a significant impact on the foods division.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in category management, with experience in interpreting market data and developing compelling category selling stories. They will be responsible for creating and leading the foods division category vision, driving future growth across accounts, and building relationships with retailers based on credibility and trust.
This is a rare opportunity to work for a Medium FMCG business that operates like a fast-paced SME, where collaboration and communication are key to success. The successful candidate will have the chance to manage any customer they prefer and multiple accounts, making this the perfect role for a first rotation Cat Man looking for their next step.
The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering annual category strategy and plans to deliver significant category growth opportunities for the brand and retailer.
- Interpreting and utilising category data to grow sales, by interpreting key trends and dynamics shaping Grocery, Fresh and Chilled, and the wider implications for the category and competitors.
- Leading and facilitating cross-functional category projects (internally and externally) managing multiple stakeholders.
Required skills and qualifications include:
- Strong analytical and proficient in the use of external market data tools with the ability to turn data into insight.
- Experience of continuous and ad hoc shopper and consumer market data/research.
- Knowledge and experience of using IRI/Nielsen EPOS data and Kantar/Scantrack consumer panel data is essential, with Dunnhumby being preferred.
- Able to get to Leeds office 3 times a week.
- Good communication, relationship building, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong leadership skills, a strategic thinker, and a real team player.
- 3+ years' category management/commercial experience within an FMCG environment.
