About the Role

i-Jobs, a local authority, is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Expert to join its team within the Children and Schools division. As a key member of the finance leadership team, you will play a critical role in providing expert financial advice to service directors and elected members.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in financial management, particularly in the public sector or related areas, with the ability to manage and motivate a team. They will also possess an in-depth understanding of financial regulations and procedures related to children's services, as well as excellent communication skills to liaise with senior stakeholders and elected members.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and lead a team to deliver financial support across the Children and Families Directorate, including Children's Social Care and Home to School Transport.
  2. Oversee the accounting arrangements for the Dedicated Schools Grant, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  3. Provide expert financial advice to service directors and elected members on budget management, financial planning, and reporting.
  4. Develop and implement financial strategies and policies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  1. Strong experience in financial management, particularly in the public sector or related areas.
  2. Leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  3. In-depth understanding of financial regulations and procedures related to children's services.
  4. Excellent communication skills to liaise with senior stakeholders and elected members.

Estimated Salary: £33,180 per annum, based on the location and industry standards.
