Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Placement Officer to join our Placement Commissioning Team at Shared Services Partnership. As a Placement Officer, you will play a critical role in identifying and securing placements for children and young people in need of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify suitable placements for children and young people.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with foster carers, residential care providers, and other external organizations to ensure seamless placement arrangements.
  • Collaborate with the Placement Commissioning Team to prioritize and manage placement searches, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.
  • Utilize databases, websites, and other resources to gather information and stay up-to-date on placement opportunities.
  • Attend meetings and contribute to discussions to ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports to track placement progress and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a placement or commissioning role, preferably in a children's services setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Proficiency in using databases and other digital tools to manage placement information.
Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday. You will be based in an office environment, working closely with the Placement Commissioning Team to support the identification and placement of children and young people.
