Nighttime Care Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support worker to join our team in providing bespoke care for vulnerable children and young people in the Northeast of England.

Our team is committed to delivering high-quality care that meets the unique needs of each child and young person.

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the social, emotional, and behavioral development of young people in a safe and caring environment, acting as a positive role model, and working closely with them to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.

Job Role and Expectations
  1. Key Responsibilities: The support worker will assist the child/young person with evening activities, personal care routines, medication, food preparation, and other tasks.
  2. Maintain the child's health, personal, emotional well-being, and safety throughout the night.
  3. Keep accurate and thorough records of daily events.
  4. Ensure the home is clean and comfortable by completing household chores during the night.
  5. Support day staff with preparations throughout the night to ensure a smooth transition.
  6. Provide thorough handovers to ensure continuity of care.
  7. Report any concerns regarding changes in a child/young person's health, behavior, or safeguarding issues.
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. A strong understanding and experience in record-keeping is essential.
  2. Excellent communication skills are required to effectively work with children, young people, and colleagues.
  3. Able to take direction and work collaboratively within a team environment.
  4. A Level 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care (children) or equivalent is preferred, with a goal of completing a Level 4 Diploma in Children and Young People.
  5. At least 12 months of experience working in a children's residential setting is necessary.
  6. A UK Driving License and access to a personal vehicle are also required.
