Academics is seeking a Behaviour Therapy Assistant to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs in a Specialist School Provision.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and/or adults with additional needs, and a degree in Psychology or Criminology would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils exhibiting challenging or anti-social behaviours, as a result of a diagnosed social, emotional or mental health need.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver re-engagement techniques in the classroom.
- Provide emotional support to at-risk children, helping them navigate their challenges.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage emotional resilience and academic growth.
- Work with an empathetic and positive attitude.
By becoming a Behaviour Therapy Assistant, you will gain hands-on experience supporting vulnerable children facing mental health and behaviour challenges. This experience will open doors to opportunities in the field of Psychology, Therapy and Counselling.
