About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Peer Support Worker. As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health needs, promoting recovery and well-being, and empowering them to take control of their lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide peer support and guidance to individuals with mental health needs, drawing on your own lived experience and expertise.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with service users, their families, and carers, to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their needs and goals.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic support and promote recovery-oriented care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of recovery-focused projects and initiatives, ensuring they are tailored to meet the needs of service users.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Trust, promoting the values and principles of recovery-focused care to external agencies and partner organizations.
Requirements
  • Education to NVQ level 3 or equivalent level of experience.
  • Current driving license and access to a car during working hours (reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants with disabilities).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing workload effectively.
  • Commitment to the Trust's mission and values, with a strong understanding of recovery-focused care and its principles.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 4 or equivalent level of experience.
  • Experience of working in a team or group environment, with a strong understanding of partnership working and networking.
  • Ability to facilitate groups and chair meetings, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of the philosophy and principles of co-production and service user-led recovery initiatives.
