East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Nurse to join our Gynaecology Oncology team at Colchester hospital. As a Nurse Specialist, you will work alongside our lead Nurse Specialist to ensure an effective service is provided for patients admitted for Gynaecology Oncology surgery from pre-admission to outpatient follow up. This is a fixed term/secondment post until 28th December 2025 for 30 hours per week.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Assist in maintaining an effective, streamlined and efficient service for patients in the South Essex and East Suffolk area in collaboration with other members of the network tumour site group in line with National Cancer Standards and Improving Outcomes Guidance.
* Provide a highly developed standard of specialist care, knowledge, advice, information and education underpinned by theoretical knowledge and practical experience to patients, carers, healthcare professionals and relevant others.
* Implement quality initiatives as part of the audit process to evaluate standards of care and service delivery within the nursing team and when appropriate the multidisciplinary team.

**Requirements:**

* Proven post registration experience at Band 5 or above in oncology/palliative care/ surgical environment
* Ability to work independently and use initiative
* Experience of multi-professional working
* Current/ recent experience of caring for patients with gynaecological disorders
* Experience of teaching

**Qualifications:**

* Current registration on part 1 of the NMC register
* BSc(Hons) in related subject or undertaking a degree pathway
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Evidence of mentoring and coaching
* Specialist long course in gynaecological care at degree level or willing to undertake

**Knowledge:**

* Understanding of cancer pathways
* Evidence of current research and development, and clinical effectiveness
* Evidence of knowledge of Gynaecology Oncology referral pathways
