About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team in our 15-bedded female high dependency locked rehabilitation inpatient unit at Discovery House.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to service users suffering from severe and enduring mental illness, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to promote mental health wellbeing, self-autonomy, and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans in liaison with the care team.
  • Provide therapeutic interpersonal skills when engaging with clients, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
  • Perform nursing assessments of clients' personal needs, using relevant skills and assessment tools.
  • Implement a range of clinical skills in the assessment of client risk, ensuring the welfare and safety of clients.
  • Construct client care plans and risk management plans based on their assessed needs, involving clients and/or carers in the care planning and delivery process.
  • Maintain accurate records of nursing care, adhering to Professional (NMC) guidance and Trust policy.
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision, identifying solutions to routine clinical issues and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
