Principal Marine Surveyor

As a Principal Marine Surveyor at Lloyd's Register, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the marine and offshore industry. Located in our Liverpool office, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to delivering high-quality services to our clients. With a strong focus on safety, reliability, and compliance, we are seeking an experienced surveyor who can contribute to the success of our Marine & Offshore business stream.
Key Responsibilities
• Proactively support the service delivery team to contribute to the success of the Marine & Offshore business stream
• Understand and interpret UK Offshore legislation and risk management principles
• Perform independent competent person surveys on Safety and Environmental Critical Elements (SECEs) for fixed and floating offshore installations
• Conduct audits of the Duty Holder's assurance process to ensure SECEs are being adequately maintained
• Provide technical assistance to Marine & Offshore Surveyors in other operating regions
• Control 'management of change' processes for various clients
• Prepare and review Performance Standards and Written Schemes of Verification

Salary
We offer a highly competitive salary, with an estimated annual salary of £80,000 based on industry standards and the location of the role.
What You Bring
To succeed in this role, you should have a degree-qualified background in surveying, preferably with experience in verification and/or class, statutory, and engineering sectors. A working knowledge of international codes and standards applicable to the energy business stream would be an advantage. Additionally, you should possess:
- Sufficient knowledge to obtain authorisations to enable survey of electrical and mechanical SECEs
- A proven track record of relevant transferable skills and experience
- Strategic thinking recognising how own work contributes to the team's objectives
- Change management skills; understands the need for change and can adapt own independent specialist role/team working processes to accommodate such change
- Inspirational, motivational Skills, demonstrate self-motivation to achieve own performance objectives
- Technically strong, with good communication skills and a willingness to find solutions, the role requires confidence in making decisions, sometimes under pressure, and an understanding of the commercial aspects of the work
- Displays a team spirit, particularly in a multicultural environment and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team with colleagues in person
