About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Marine and Offshore Technical Specialist to join our team in Liverpool, UK. As a key member of our service delivery team, you will play a crucial role in contributing to the success of our Marine & Offshore business stream.


Key Responsibilities



  • Proactively support the service delivery team to ensure the successful completion of projects and services.
  • Understand and interpret UK Offshore legislation, as well as principles of risk management and offshore installation safety cases.
  • Perform independent competent person (ICP) surveys on Safety and Environmental Critical Elements (SECEs), including Control and Instrumentation (C&I) and mechanical systems for fixed and floating offshore installations.
  • Survey materials, equipment, and components (MEC) at the manufacturer's facility, including witnessing factory acceptance tests (FAT) for verification and certification.
  • Conduct audits of the Duty Holder's assurance process to ensure that SECEs are adequately maintained.
  • Provide technical assistance to Marine & Offshore Surveyors in other operating regions.
  • Control 'management of change' processes for various clients.
  • Prepare and review Performance Standards and Written Schemes of Verification.
  • Support opportunities for business growth in the local area.
  • Take an active role in assigned work, communicating with clients, managing finances, and reporting accurately and on time.
  • Actively engage in developing and strengthening Energy's position in this area.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from other departments and business streams to achieve business interests.

About You



  • You must be safe in your actions, living and promoting Lloyd's Register's safety culture.
  • Degree-qualified surveyor or equivalent qualifications and relevant industrial experience will be considered.
  • Sufficient knowledge to obtain authorisations to enable survey of electrical and mechanical SECEs.
  • PREFERRED: Experience of verification and/or class, statutory, and engineering experience with a working knowledge of international codes and standards applicable to the energy business stream.
  • A proven track record of relevant transferable skills and experience.
  • Strategic thinking that recognises how your work contributes to the team's objectives.
  • Change management skills; understanding the need for change and adapting your role/team working processes to accommodate it.
  • Inspirational, motivational skills, demonstrating self-motivation to achieve your performance objectives.
  • Technically strong, with good communication skills and a willingness to find solutions, often making decisions under pressure.
