We are seeking a skilled Marine Surveyor to join our team in Liverpool.

Job Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing independent competent person (ICP) surveys on Safety and Environmental Critical Elements (SECEs), including both Control and Instrumentation (C&I) and mechanical systems, for fixed and floating offshore installations.
The role also involves surveying materials, equipment, and components (MEC) at the manufacturer's facility, witnessing factory acceptance tests (FAT), and conducting audits of the Duty Holder's assurance process.
Our ideal candidate will have a degree-qualified background in surveying, sufficient knowledge to obtain authorisations to enable survey of electrical and mechanical SECEs, and a proven track record of relevant transferable skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively support the service delivery team contributing to the success of the Marine & Offshore business stream.
- Understand and interpret UK Offshore legislation, principles of risk management, and offshore installation safety cases.
- Perform ICP surveys on SECEs, including C&I and mechanical systems, for fixed and floating offshore installations.
- Survey MEC at the manufacturer's facility, witness FAT, and conduct audits of the Duty Holder's assurance process.
- Provide technical assistance to Marine & Offshore Surveyors in other operating regions.
- Control 'management of change' processes for clients.
- Prepare/Review Performance Standards and Written Schemes of Verification.
- Support business opportunities in the local area.
- Take an active role in all work in the area, proactively managing contracts with a focus on service delivery, retention, and developing client relationships.
- Actively engage in seeking new opportunities to develop and strengthen the Energy business stream's position in this area.
- Work closely with colleagues from other departments and business streams, encouraging collaboration and supporting business interests.
Requirements
- A degree-qualified surveyor or equivalent qualifications and relevant industrial experience.
- Sufficient knowledge to obtain authorisations to enable survey of electrical and mechanical SECEs.
- Preferred but not necessary: Experience of verification and/or class, statutory, and engineering experience with a working knowledge of international codes and standards applicable to the energy business stream.
- A proven track record of relevant transferable skills and experience.
- Strategic thinking; recognises how own work contributes to the team's objectives.
