Job Summary:

The Pirbright Institute is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Coordinator to join our team. As an Inventory Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of goods and materials within the Institute.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and receive all Institute-ordered goods and record them in the computer-based system.
  • Unpack and inspect deliveries for damages and discrepancies, and store them in the appropriate locations.
  • Operate a forklift truck to unload, move, stack, and arrange deliveries as needed.
  • Inform end-users of deliveries and update collection details in the goods inwards register.
  • Maintain accurate records, filing systems, and audit trails for all goods received and distributed.
  • Process internal inventory requests by picking, distributing, and booking out via the computer-based system.
  • Maintain a high level of stock accuracy, investigating discrepancies, and liaising with suppliers to correct any issues.
  • Raise purchase orders to re-stock and maintain inventory stock holding levels.
  • Complete weekly stock checks and year-end counts as required.
  • Support the Stores Manager in delivering a first-class customer-focused service to internal and external customers.

Requirements:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Relevant work experience in a similar stores, inventory, or customer service-based role.
  • Excellent numerical, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy, including the use of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience of working in a high-pressure environment.
  • Organized, timely, and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Able to work autonomously and in a team.
  • Full driving license.
