This Procurement Account Manager position is a unique opportunity to play a key role within the Procurement team at Leonardo, a global high-tech company and a leading player in the Aerospace, Defence, and Security sectors.

Located in Yeovil, at the heart of the company's operations, you will be uniquely positioned to see the output of your efforts every day.

This opportunity requires a diverse skillset with an emphasis on Procurement, offering the chance to learn and develop through on-the-job training and the company's extensive e-learning platforms.

You will have exposure to a wide range of functions and disciplines within the company to build a network and deliver contracts while maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

This role is referred to internally as a Procurement Programs Specialist and is a management-level position within the company, aligned with the company's Salary and Career Progression (S&CPF) framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • You will be accountable for delivering promises made by the purchasing team regarding budget, lead time, and quality.
  • You will be required to establish mechanisms to report progress on a monthly basis.
  • You will serve as the conduit between buyers, programs, and other functions to ensure buyers receive the necessary information to place orders on time, while also ensuring functions have the required information from Procurement.
  • You will be responsible for managing new items required by customers, including development and budget allocation.
  • You will be assigned one or more customer projects, serving as the Integrated Project Team (IPT) lead for Procurement.
  • You will manage elements of a program, but not be a program manager.
  • You will act on behalf of buyers, ensuring they have the necessary information.
  • You will manipulate information across multiple software platforms to create reports, but not be a data analyst.
  • You will be the primary interface between purchasing and the rest of the company, with flexible working options available, including the opportunity to work from home.
Requirements:
  • You will represent Procurement within an Integrated Project Team, requiring knowledge of the procurement process.
  • You will be confident, able to obtain necessary information, and able to challenge when appropriate, while maintaining good relationships with colleagues at various levels within the business – excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
  • You will be able to work independently with a high workload in a pressured environment, prioritizing effectively.
  • You will be keen and able to learn new skills, with support from the company.
  • You will be a competent user of MS Office applications, able to use MS Excel effectively, including Pivots, VLookups, and formulas, and able to confidently manipulate large data sets to create reports.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in managing similar activities in an equivalent sector.
  • Knowledge or experience of the aerospace sector.
  • Experience working with SAP.
