University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking highly motivated and skilled individuals to join our Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism department as Diabetes and Endocrinology Consultants.

The successful candidates will play a crucial role in supporting endocrinology and diabetes across our inpatient and outpatient services, including general medicine and on-call. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality care and are committed to excellence in patient care.

Key Responsibilities

The Diabetes and Endocrinology Consultant will be responsible for providing secondary and tertiary care to patients with a wide range of endocrine conditions. This will include providing clinical services, participating in research programs, and contributing to the development of integrated care pathways with primary care.

The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including biochemists, endocrine surgeons, geneticists, gynaecologists, neurosurgeons, obstetricians, oncologists, ophthalmologists, paediatricians, and radiologists. They will also have the opportunity to participate in clinical research and contribute to the development of new treatments and therapies.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a CCT in General Medicine/Diabetes/Endocrinology or equivalent, and be on the GMC specialist register or eligible for inclusion within six months. They will also have a strong track record of delivering high-quality patient care and a commitment to excellence in their field.
