Outpatient Clinic Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Outpatient Clinic Manager to join our team in the Ophthalmology department. As a key member of our administrative team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth management of patient pathways from referral to treatment.

Your primary duties will include processing and logging referrals, scheduling appointments, and coordinating diagnostic investigations. You will work closely with clinicians, patients, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and care.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and has experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Process and log all referrals, including paper and Choose and Book, in line with Trust Access Policy and specialty SOP.
  • Schedule new and follow-up appointments for patients with the most appropriate clinician, ensuring that capacity is proactively and efficiently used.
  • Ensure any diagnostic and investigations required as part of the patient pathway have been requested.
  • Coordinate appointments and procedures at other hospitals and organisations, where required.
  • Ensure clinic outcomes are recorded accurately on PAS, including those for offsite clinics.
