Lead Commercial and Regulatory Expertise for HVDC Projects

As a key member of our team at Taylor Hopkinson | Powered by Brunel, you will play a pivotal role in leading the commercial and regulatory scopes for a portfolio of HVDC development projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in securing successful Final Investment Decisions (FIDs) for each project, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to optimize business cases, contracting strategies, and construction planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop deep expertise in regulatory regimes in the UK (led by OFGEM) and connecting countries (led by BNetzA and CREG)
  • Foster productive relationships with regulators to protect project progress and business case
  • Lead the Final Project Assessment (FPA) process in the UK and equivalent processes in connecting countries to ensure appropriate revenue regimes for HVDC investments
  • Limit disallowed costs through effective commercial strategies within project development and delivery stages
  • Support positive FIDs in large-scale HVDC projects by presenting robust business cases and commercial risk management
Requirements:
  • Track record of commercial expertise and regulatory engagement in large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Excellent communication and project/programme management skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in economics, law, science, engineering, or similar
