We're seeking an experienced Events Manager to work collaboratively with our Events & Communications team in developing and delivering intriguing events that celebrate materials and making.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating engaging events, including large-scale public festivals and materials-related masterclasses, catering to diverse audiences. This role is perfect for someone who is flexible, positive, and organized, with a hands-on approach to event management.

You'll work closely with our dynamic team, comprising the Head of Events & Communications, Sara, Events Manager, Liza, and Communications Manager, Becca. Our team prioritizes people, fostering a culture where everyone feels valued, included, and empowered.

The successful candidate should be able to connect with local communities, helping us engage with makers, creative networks, and community events in East London. We encourage applications from those passionate about arts and sciences, regardless of traditional backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver captivating events that celebrate materials and making
  • Collaborate with the Events & Communications team to create engaging content
  • Work with local communities to build connections with makers and creative networks
  • Manage event logistics, including venue selection and vendor coordination
  • Provide exceptional customer service to attendees and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in event management or a related field
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Possession of a valid driver's license (if applicable)
