About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of High Energy Laser Developer at QinetiQ Limited. This is a unique opportunity to develop and deploy advanced laser technology solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver project objectives.

As a High Energy Laser Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing high-energy laser systems, conducting technical tasks, and collaborating with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing, and testing high-energy laser systems
  • Conducting technical tasks relating to High Energy Laser development, test, and evaluation
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide input into large projects
  • Engaging with stakeholders to deliver project objectives
  • Leading technical projects to successful completion

Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent experience in industry in a relevant field
  • In-depth knowledge of laser physics and beam propagation
  • Practical experience designing, developing, and assembling laser systems
  • Robust understanding of laser safety practices and protocols
  • Experience working with laboratory test and measurement equipment/instrumentation
  • Awareness of safety practices and protocols

Salary: £70,000 - £90,000 per annum
