Residential Childcare Manager Lead Position

As a leader within our specialist mental health services, you will play a major role in shaping the delivery of our service and transforming the experiences of our young people.

We are seeking an experienced Residential Childcare Manager to join our team at our newly established multi-site CAMHS children's residential home with educational provisions. In this role, you will work closely with the Regional Manager to achieve the aims and objectives outlined in the Statement of Purpose of the Children's High Dependency unit.

Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is up to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, you will be eligible for a £5,000 annual quality and commercial bonus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive care plans that cater to the unique needs of each young person, addressing their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health requirements.
  • Foster a high-performing team by working closely with recruitment teams to bring in the right talent, completing company inductions, and implementing personal development plans to ensure a strong team dynamic.
  • Establish systems for consulting young people about their care, ensuring they have a voice in the decisions affecting them.
  • Assign key workers to each young person to implement their care plan effectively.
  • Maintain high-quality care standards in line with our quality standards and the Home's Statement of Purpose.
  • Address any complaints or child protection concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to promote the welfare of our young people.
  • Participate in care planning and review meetings as required.
  • Cultivate a safe culture where our children receive the highest standard of care possible.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience: At least 2 years in a position related to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
  • Qualifications: A Level 3 in Children's Residential Care is essential; a Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Skills: Efficiency in planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.
  • Communication: Confidence in effective spoken and written communication.
  • Understanding Trauma: Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.
  • Driving License: Full UK license is required.
