Stroke Medicine Consultant

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Consultant Physician in Stroke Medicine to join our multidisciplinary team at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA) symptoms.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in ward rounds, reviewing new patients, HASU patients for the first 72 hours, and ASU patients, and support the multidisciplinary team with discharge planning.
- Conduct stroke clinics every other week, TIA clinics weekly, and supervise CNS in TIA clinics.
- Chair weekly stroke ward multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Participate in regional out-of-hours on-call, shared with consultants at Maidstone Hospital, using telemedicine.
- Perform weekend ward rounds in the stroke unit on a 1:6 rota between 0900-1600 on Saturday and Sunday.
Person Specification
- Full GMC registration.
- MBBS or equivalent.
- MRCP (UK) or equivalent.
- Holds CCT or equivalent or will obtain within 6 months of interview date.
