About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Emergency Medicine Consultant to join our team at Darent Valley Hospital. As a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of medical staff, and contributing to the development of our Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in Emergency Medicine, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Lead a team of medical staff, including middle-grade associates, acute care common stem trainees, and emergency nurse practitioners.
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes and departmental efficiency.
  • Participate in clinical audit and research, contributing to the development of best practices in Emergency Medicine.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register at the General Medical Council.
  • Postgraduate diploma in Emergency Medicine or equivalent.
  • Advanced competency in prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and urgent aspects of illness and injury.
  • Experience in teaching doctors-in-training and undergraduates.
  • Experience in clinical audit and research.
