Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide high-quality clinical care to patients in the Adult Medicine department at Darent Valley Hospital. This will involve working closely with nursing, managerial, and medical colleagues to deliver excellent patient outcomes.

The post-holder will be responsible for supervising junior clinical staff, participating in research, teaching, audit, and governance programs, and contributing to the development of the department.

The appointee will be expected to provide advice to clinical nurse practitioners and junior medical staff, and to participate in the teaching, research, audit, and governance programs within the department.

The successful applicant will join the Adult Medicine Team at Darent Valley Hospital and will be part of the Acute Medical Unit, Renal Medicine, Respiratory, Ageing and Health, Acute Medicine, Gastroenterology, Stroke, Diabetes & Endocrinology teams.

Person Specification
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • MRCP(UK) full certification or equivalent by time of appointment
  • Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment
  • Evidence of achievement of Foundation competences from a UKFPO affiliated Foundation Programme or equivalent by time of appointment in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice
  • At least 24 months' experience in medicine or an ACCS programme or equivalent (not including Foundation by the time of commencement of ST3 training)
