We are looking for a Senior Scientific Editor and Publisher to join our team at Cambridge University Press & Assessment.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in scholarly publishing, including journal development and commissioning, as well as expertise in open research principles.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Content Strategy: Drive content acquisition and commissioning to meet targets and programme goals.
  • Financial Oversight: Oversee the launch of new titles and the continued growth of existing journals.
  • Thought Leadership: Champion open research principles while ensuring editorial quality and operational excellence.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in scholarly publishing, including journal development and commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of OA publishing and the evolving research landscape.
  • Exceptional project management and collaboration skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities.
  • Financial acumen, including budget setting and expenditure tracking.
  • A track record of building and maintaining professional networks within research communities.
