Job Description

NES Fircroft is seeking a highly skilled HSE Specialist to join our team in the offshore wind industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive and Promote a Positive HSE Culture
    • Lead by example and promote a proactive HSE culture through cultural engagement, data-driven risk management, and knowledge sharing.
    • Use data to raise awareness and implement lessons learned.
  • Support Ongoing Development and Implementation of HSE Systems
    • Develop, implement, and use the client's systems, procedures, instructions, and associated HSE documentation.
    • Support the development and implementation of the client's HSE Management System (HMS) and Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) process landscape.
  • Conduct Audits and Compliance Checks
    • Audit and check compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 55001 standards.
  • Facilitate Safety Meetings and Training
    • Plan, facilitate, and participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, briefings, safety walks, inspections, HAZID/HAZOP workshops, and employer cultural programs and campaigns.
  • Monitor and Assess HSE Performance
    • Monitor and assess internal and external HSE compliance and performance using the client's incident reporting tool (Synergi).
  • Coordinate and Report Safety Inspections and Incidents
    • Coordinate and report safety inspections, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and report derived observations, risks, and lessons learned.
  • Liaise with Contractors and Participate in Site HSE Meetings
    • Effectively liaise with contractors at management and site levels to establish and improve safety, health, and environmental culture.
    • Participate and contribute to all relevant site HSE meetings.
  • Participate in Audits and Follow Up on Findings
    • Participate in audits (internal and external) and follow up on findings from HSE-related audits, inspections, incident investigations, and support the implementation of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Report LTIs and Provide Ad Hoc HSE Advice
    • Report Lost Time Injuries (LTIs) to the HSE organization in accordance with the process.
    • Provide ad hoc advice on HSE-related questions in daily work.
  • Maintain Competence and Ensure Safety Certificates are Valid
    • Be proactive in maintaining own competence level required for the role.
    • Ensure the validity of own safety and training certificates as required.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • English Language Skills
    • English language skills are required.
  • Relevant Academic or Technical Background
    • A relevant academic or technical background is required.
  • Minimum 3-5 Years' Work Experience with HSE
    • Minimum 3-5 years' work experience with HSE, ideally from onshore renewables/windfarm construction.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong communication and presentation skills are required.
  • IT Literacy and Knowledge of Synergi
    • IT literacy, including Microsoft Office package, and knowledge of Synergi are advantages.
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and Incident Investigation
    • Knowledge of root cause analysis and incident investigation is required.
  • Demonstratable Experience in Dealing with Contractors
    • Demonstratable experience in dealing with 3rd party contractors in relation to HSE is required.
  • Completed NEBOSH or Similar Recognized HSE Qualification
    • A completed NEBOSH or similar recognized HSE qualification is required.
  • In Date Site Safety Passport and Current Clean UK Driver's License
    • An in-date site safety passport (CCNSG or CSCS) and current clean UK driver's license are required.
  • Qualified/Certified Auditor and Experienced in Delivery of Training Courses
    • A qualified/certified auditor and experienced in delivery of training courses/material are advantages.
