Job Summary:

Vanguard is seeking a highly skilled Operational Resilience Specialist to join our European Resilience & Governance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for improving the resiliency of our European business and supporting a complex team spanning our European business, including European Operational Resilience, Digital Operational Resilience (DORA), and Business Continuity Management.

About the Role:

  • Be the key Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Operational Resilience across the European business, maintaining oversight of the business service lifecycle and capturing vulnerabilities to ensure they are supervised by the business to resolution.
  • Responsible for the coordination and management of important business service owners, facilitating the approval of changes to important business services and impact tolerances at each legal entity level.
  • Support the design and implementation of our European Resilience strategy for each European entity, requiring excellent stakeholder management skills and proficiency engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Assist the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) implementation with our Regulatory Programme Office and IT teams.
  • Post-implementation, support the ongoing governance and reporting to the senior leadership committees and boards.
  • Provide advice and support to stakeholders from implementation to Business as Usual (BAU), making improvements to frameworks and reporting.
  • Prepare and support the facilitation of governance to enable senior management to steer the decisions of relevant European legal entities.
  • Maintain the annual self-assessment documentation.
  • Design, implement, and lead stress testing of each important business service.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members.
  • Provide training, maintenance, and support to the European staff on European Resilience.
  • Undertake independent horizon scanning to identify potential threats, risks, emerging issues, and opportunities, allowing for better preparedness to support resilience decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Proven related work experience in Operational Resilience.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, as this role will face off to a variety of stakeholders across the business.
  • Relevant Business Continuity qualifications are preferred.
