Job Overview

Rikama Education is seeking an experienced practitioner to work with pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. As part of the SEMH Outreach Team, you will support children with identified behavioural needs across primary schools in Greenwich Borough.

Your key responsibilities include modelling effective behaviour management strategies, participating in strategy meetings with senior school colleagues, and contributing to pupil outcomes. You will also help pupils develop literacy, numeracy, and social skills, as well as accompany them on day trips.

Main Duties:

  • Carry out planned programmes of intervention with pupil(s) of primary school age.
  • Conduct activities with small groups or individual pupils after discussion and planning with the Line Manager.
  • Assist pupils in literacy, numeracy, and social skills development.
  • Liaise with mainstream school staff on general welfare and behaviour matters.
  • Participate in whole school training as appropriate.
  • Promote Equal Opportunities policies.
  • Provide training in autism, behaviour management, or other SEN-related areas.
