Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Systems Engineering Lead to join our Defence - Systems Engineering & Technology team at GKN Aerospace.

This is a four-year project that will be a major steppingstone towards achieving the next generation of avionics for customer Tilt-Rotors.

About the Role

As a Technical Systems Engineering Lead, you will provide technical expertise/input and validation towards project development teams, leading the development and integration of technical solutions compliant with customer, regulatory, and airworthiness requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a deep understanding of customer requirements and specifications, leading the design and development of complex systems and subsystems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise/input and validation towards project development teams
  • Lead the development and integration of technical solutions compliant with customer, regulatory, and airworthiness requirements
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer requirements and specifications
  • Lead the design and development of complex systems and subsystems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement technical solutions
Requirements
  • HNC, degree or equivalent experience in electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering
  • Demonstrable experience delivering designs for electro-mechanical, sensing OR controller systems
  • Experience in a leading / approval role for systems design
  • Proven track record in compliance planning and governance of verification & validation analysis for product release
  • Advanced experience of the Systems Development Lifecycle process
  • Advanced experience of requirement decomposition and tools (e.g. DOORS)
