Machine Learning Innovator

At Seagate Technology, we are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Intern to join our Global Wafer Systems team in Springtown. This 11-month placement will commence on September 1st and provide an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineering or Computer Science student to work on cutting-edge projects.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered solutions. Key responsibilities include developing state-of-the-art machine learning models, delivering critical insights, and working closely with a global team of Data Scientists.
- The intern will have the opportunity to work in one of several domains: Statistics, Deep-learning, Data Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Development.
- Deliver innovative solutions that support automated decision making and root cause analysis.
- You should have strong skills in Python, including knowledge of pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib, numpy, and Jupyter Notebooks.
- Proficiency in SQL and basic understanding of database structures is required, with experience in PostgreSQL being an advantage.
- Familiarity with classification and tree-based algorithms, as well as supervised and unsupervised methodologies, is essential.
We estimate the salary for this role to be around $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The position is full-time, 39 hours per week, with on-site working in Springtown, Derry / Londonderry, Northern Ireland.
