Job Description

Medlock Partners Limited is seeking an exceptional HR and Learning & Development Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a reputable and successful nationwide construction business that is focused on driving long-term sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • L&D: Review and evaluate current L&D processes, making recommendations for improvement. Develop and implement a comprehensive L&D strategy, working closely with the People Director.
  • L&D: Design and deliver training programs, including Leadership & Management training, in collaboration with internal stakeholders and third-party providers.
  • L&D: Continuously review and update the suite of training packages on the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure they are fit for purpose.
  • L&D: Collaborate with managers to create and support individual learning, succession, and talent plans, including course content and learning solutions.
  • L&D: Identify and implement innovative methods for delivering training, learning, and development to maximize benefits for employees and the business.
  • L&D: Manage apprenticeship programs, ensuring appropriate selection and maintaining the Apprentice Levy account.
  • HR: Work closely with the People Director to lead the HR team, mentoring, encouraging, supporting, and guiding with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • HR: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
  • HR: Help implement and embed the People Strategy consistently across all areas.
  • HR: Provide support and advice in line with legal and best practice requirements, while being commercially aware of business needs.
  • HR: Oversee the development of HR policies and procedures, ensuring they align with current legislation and best practices.
  • HR: Be an ambassador for the People Strategy and a driver of change, ensuring effective change management.
Requirements
  • Experience as an L&D or HR professional, ideally within construction, manufacturing, or the engineering sectors.
  • Proven management experience, mentoring, and supporting similar teams.
  • Ability to travel to different sites and maintain visibility across the entire business.
  • Capability to gather data and insights to identify learning needs, collect feedback, report on training completion, and continuously improve content.
  • Proven ability to work with a range of stakeholders across a diverse business.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills.
  • CIPD qualification (preferred).
