Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in Lymington. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to engage with their learning and manage their emotions.

**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, focusing on their learning and emotional well-being.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in creating a structured and nurturing environment that promotes positive behavior and academic progress.
  • Support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, adapting to their individual learning needs.
  • Help implement behavior management strategies and social development plans to support student growth.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff to support student well-being and academic success.
**Requirements:**
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults with SEMH needs is preferred but not essential.
  • A caring, patient, and resilient attitude.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students in their learning.
  • A desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people.
