About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Specialist to join our team at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Pediatric Plastic Surgery Team, you will play a vital role in providing expert nursing care to children and families affected by cleft lip and palate.

As a Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing and managing complex cases, providing education and support to families, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care. Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage complex cases, including cleft lip and palate, and provide expert nursing care to children and families.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
  • Provide education and support to families, including pre- and post-operative care, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement best practices, improve patient outcomes, and enhance the overall quality of care.
  • Contribute to the development of our services, including the creation of care pathways, patient information, and educational resources.
Requirements
  • NMC Registration as a Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN) or Registered Nurse (RN) Child.
  • Post-registration qualification in a relevant specialty, such as pediatric nursing or plastic surgery.
  • Experience working with acutely and chronically ill children and young people, including those with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize clinical caseload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
