About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled clinician to join our CAMHS Liaison Team at Portsmouth Hospital. As a Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing specialist mental health services to children and adolescents in crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake rapid crisis assessments for young people referred through the general hospitals and community referral pathway, providing short crisis intervention and signposting to other specialist services as required.
  • Demonstrate a high level of skill in assessing and managing risk, including clinical as well as generic risk assessment and management.
  • Work as a senior practitioner providing clinically effective and therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, and their families, taking into account the complexities of mental health problems.
  • Provide consultation, specialist advice, and training to professionals who come into contact with children and young people who have mental health needs.
