Clinical Psychologist

The role of Clinical Psychologist is a dynamic and flexible position that involves partnership working with other agencies, developing professional networks, and using leadership skills to improve the care and support of people with learning disabilities in the city.
The successful candidate will work alongside the senior management and clinical staff in the service to deliver high-quality psychological care to people across the city. The role is supported by a Band 7 Clinical Psychologist and an Assistant Psychologist who are established in their posts.
The ILDS psychology service works in conjunction with the child and adolescent learning disability service (CAMHS-LD) and as such the post holder would have oversight of the work of Psychology staff delivering care in this service.
Job Responsibilities- Deliver individual, family, and group therapy
- Maintain a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse, and the threat of physical abuse
- Teach, train, and/or provide professional and clinical supervision
- Lead service development initiatives with clear measurable outcomes
The ideal candidate will have post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist, and have post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialized areas of psychological practice.
Desirable qualifications include HCR20 training and experience of working as a qualified clinical or counselling psychologist at a highly specialist level.
