About the Role

The Education Trust is seeking a highly skilled Learning and Development Advisor to support the successful delivery of a Trust-wide Training and Development strategy. The successful post holder will report directly to the HR Director and work collaboratively with other key stakeholders to develop and implement a learning and development strategy for the Trust.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in learning and development, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a learning and development strategy for the Trust.
  2. Produce, implement, and monitor a Trust Development Plan and a Trust-wide Training Policy.
  3. Develop reports and data relating to the L&D function and report to the HR Director monthly.
  4. Determine and assess the Trust's training and employee development needs through proven methods of assessment.
  5. Develop and source specific targeted training to meet the Trust objectives.
  6. Manage training requirements and the processing and coordination of L&D requests.
  7. Monitor Trust-wide training activities and report against Trust training targets.
  8. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of Trust training programmes.
  9. Keep up to date with the latest training trends, developments, and best practices.
  10. Be able to facilitate and deliver in-house training to a diverse audience.

The professional competencies expected of a Learning and Development Advisor are:

  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  2. Be flexible in managing and planning daily, weekly, and monthly workloads.
  3. Have very good time management, planning, and organisational skills.
  4. Able to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team.

The qualifications and previous experience required of the Learning and Development Advisor are:

  1. A CIPD or Organisational Learning and Development level five qualification, with a strong interest in learning and development (or a keen interest to undertake this development as an apprenticeship, subject to course availability) or relevant L&D managerial experience.
  2. Have demonstrable skills in project management and change.
  3. Excellent understanding of what makes training effective, with curiosity about emerging approaches and delivery mechanisms.
  4. Experience of evaluating the impact of learning and development to continuously develop their offering.
  5. Experience in learning and development including knowledge of learning management systems.
  6. Confident in interpreting data and analysis.
  7. Proficient in all MS-Office applications, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint.
